The Beechworth Powder Magazine is a short drive from the Historic Precinct, in the Beechworth Historic Park.

Built in 1859 at a cost of £1,500.00, the Powder Magazine stored black-powder used for blasting on the goldfields. The unique design of the building ensured that any explosion would be minimised by the building’s structure.

The story of the Powder Magazine is now told in a Sound and Light experience.
