Forestry Exhibit

The FORESTRY MUSEUM in the GOLD WARDENS OFFICE is operated by the Forestry Commission Retired Personnel Association.

It is based in the Historic Gold Wardens Office. The Gold Warden carried out similar functions to the Chinese

Protector, but within the European community. This building was erected at the same time as the Chinese Protector’s Office.

The Exhibition offers an insight into the heritage surrounding the State Forestry operation in Victoria and also has a focus on fire minimisation and suppression.

A new audio interpretation brings the story to life, with the sounds of native birds allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the forest, if only for a few moments.

Entry is free, but a gold coin donation would be appreciated to enable the Association to develop the exhibition.
